Revelation of John 16

The Bowls of Wrath

1 Then I heard a loud voice from athe
Or sanctuary
temple, saying to the cseven angels, “Go and dpour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

2 So the first angel went and poured out his bowl eon the earth; and a harmful and painful fsore
Lit came upon
afflicted the people hwho had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

3 The second angel poured out his bowl iinto the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living
Lit soul
thing in the sea died.

4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the krivers and the springs of waters; and they lbecame blood. 5And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “ mRighteous are You, nthe One who is and who was, O oHoly One, because You pjudged these things; 6for they poured out qthe blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them rblood to drink. They
Lit are worthy
deserve it.”
7And I heard tthe altar saying, “Yes, uLord God, the Almighty, vtrue and righteous are Your judgments.”

8 And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon wthe sun, xand it was given power to scorch people with fire. 9And the people were scorched with
Lit great
fierce heat; and they zblasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they aadid not repent so as to abgive Him glory.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the acthrone of the beast, and his kingdom became addarkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 11and they aeblasphemed the afGod of heaven because of their pain and their agsores; and they ahdid not repent of their deeds.

12 The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the aigreat river, the Euphrates; and ajits water was dried up, so that akthe way would be prepared for the kings alfrom the

east.

Har-Magedon (Armageddon)

13 And I saw coming out of the mouth of the andragon, and out of the mouth of the aobeast, and out of the mouth of the apfalse prophet, three aqunclean spirits like arfrogs; 14for they are asspirits of demons, atperforming signs, which go out to the kings of the auentire
Lit inhabited earth
world, to awgather them together for the war of the axgreat day of God, the Almighty.
15(“Behold, ayI am coming like a thief. azBlessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, baso that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.”) 16And they bbgathered them together to the place which bcin Hebrew is called bdHar-Magedon.

,
bhtemple from the throne, saying, “ biIt is done.”
18And there were flashes of bjlightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was bka great earthquake, blsuch as there had not been since mankind came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. 19 bmThe great city
Lit became three
was split into three parts, and the cities of the
Or Gentiles
nations fell. bpBabylon the great was bqremembered in the sight of God, to give her brthe cup of the wine of
Lit wrath of His anger
His fierce wrath.
20And btevery island fled, and no mountains were found. 21And buhuge
Lit hail
hailstones, weighing about
I.e., as a measure of weight about 100 lb. or 45 kg

Lit great
severe.
